Lancashire-based building services consultancy PSA has been appointed to the Lancashire County Council Mechanical and Electrical Design Consultancy Services framework, continuing a working relationship spanning two decades.
PSA, a specialist mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineering consultancy based in the North West, has secured a place on the new four-year framework following a competitive tendering process. The appointment covers Mechanical and Electrical Design Consultancy Services for Lancashire County Council, one of the largest local authorities in England and Wales.
PSA was assessed against quality, commercial and social value criteria and was identified as one of six most economically advantageous tenderers for the services. The appointment builds on a longstanding relationship between PSA and the Council, with the consultancy having supported the authority’s building services requirements for the past 20 years.
A key priority under the framework will be supporting Lancashire County Council’s ongoing programme of new build and refurbishment across its public building portfolio. Central to this will be M&E design consultancy services spanning low carbon heating systems, LED lighting upgrades, and building energy efficiency, all of which will play a vital role in helping the Council meet its decarbonisation targets. This extends to formulating net zero carbon designs for new buildings, ensuring energy efficiency is embedded from the outset.
A Lancashire Business, Working for Lancashire
“This appointment means a great deal to us. We’re a Lancashire head-quartered business, we live and work here, and being able to contribute directly to the quality of public buildings in the county is something we genuinely value. Twenty years is a long time to work alongside any client, and that kind of relationship only comes from doing the job properly and having a relationship built on trust. We’re looking forward to continuing that work and playing our part in helping the Council hit its decarbonisation targets.”
— Andrew Bates, Associate Director at PSA
As a North West business, the company is committed to making a genuine contribution to the communities in which it operates, whether through local employment, supply chain choices or the longer-term social and economic benefits that well-designed, energy-efficient public buildings deliver.
