We developed a comprehensive stage three design, assisted with procurement, and ensured the works delivered met all relevant British Standards through various delivery duties, including on-site inspections. The outcome was the successful installation of 34 fully compliant sprinkler systems over a five-year project period.

CLIENT OBJECTIVES

To stay ahead of the latest regulations for multi-occupancy buildings, our client made a decisive move to proactively retrofit 34 buildings under its remit across the UK with new sprinkler systems.  The top priority was to ensure the utmost safety and peace of mind for its residents. The client sought a reliable and experienced technical consulting partner to guide them through this complex process, from feasibility to completion, all whilst ensuring the upmost building safety and compliance throughout.

OUR SOLUTION

PSA was appointed as a specialist building services consultant on the project and tasked with advising on the various options available and helping the client to decide which was the best route to take.

Our team completed full site surveys, feasibility reports and comprehensive stage three designs, including stage three drawings and specifications to allow competitive tender of the projects.

Our team supported the client throughout the procurement process, providing expert guidance, negotiating with potential specialist contractors and analysing tender returns.

PSA’s role extended beyond these initial stages, as we attended regular meetings, conducted on-site inspections and reviewed associated handover information.

During the delivery we provided technical assistance to the client to monitor progress, maintain quality standards and ultimately ensure that all works completed were in accordance with relevant regulation, standards and guidance.

THE OUTCOME

Our meticulous approach culminated in the successful handover, including witness testing to validate the system’s performance and checking of associated Operation and Maintenance manuals, of all 34 installations.
