Tudor House

About this project

A private homeowner approached us to help create her forever family home. The project involved designing comprehensive mechanical systems for a luxurious property, complete with a hair salon, gym, and nanny annex. Despite space constraints, our team implemented heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions. Working closely with Calder Peel Architects, we turned the client’s vision into a comfortable, high-tech reality.

CLIENT OBJECTIVES

Our client, a private homeowner, wanted to create her dream family home. With an interior designer already on board, she sought our expertise to ensure the mechanics worked seamlessly with the rest of the property. The brief included incorporating a hair salon, gym, spacious kitchen for entertaining, a nanny annex, and an additional lounge near the children’s bedrooms. The client prioritised comfort and functionality, with no expense spared in achieving her ideal living space.

OUR SOLUTION

Our team at PSA took on the challenge of delivering a full mechanical design for the property.

This encompassed:

  • Heating, cooling and ventilation
  • Water systems
  • Air conditioning for bedrooms
  • Underfloor heating
  • Fire suppression misting system for the ground floor
  • Air source heat pump

We faced the added complexity of limited plant space, as the client wanted to maximise storage areas. The heating and domestic hot water system is supplied by a number of air source heat pumps. Cooling is supplied via separate air-cooled refrigeration. We also provided a water supply for an innovative rainwater collection system, which feeds into the garden’s irrigation, supporting the lush landscaping and a newly installed Padel court.

THE OUTCOME

In collaboration with Calder Peel Architects, we successfully delivered the designs on schedule, meeting all of the client’s requirements. The property is currently mid-build.
