CLIENT OBJECTIVES

The client required an update of a college accommodation building as part of a larger modernisation project. The outdated structure had bedrooms with communal showers and toilets, which needed conversion into individual rooms with private ensuite bathrooms. This significant renovation aimed to enhance the living experience for students while aligning with contemporary standards.

 

OUR SOLUTION

PSA was entrusted with the comprehensive mechanical and electrical design for the building’s update. The addition of private ensuite bathrooms would significantly increase the demand on the plumbing system. However, the plant room, where all services are maintained, presented a spatial constraint due to its extremely limited size. Our skilled design engineers meticulously analysed the existing infrastructure to develop an innovative solution that could accommodate the new requirements within the confined plant room space.

Through meticulous planning and creative problem-solving, our design engineer successfully optimised the limited plant room space to integrate the necessary systems while ensuring accessibility for future maintenance.
