CLIENT OBJECTIVES
Glasdon Group required a new office to support the group’s innovation and exports, and for this to be a flagship building within their existing site. Working closely with the Glasdon project manager, we were able to develop a brief to their exact requirements and set out a design proposal for their comment and sign off.
OUR SOLUTION
To provide a low energy building, we worked with the architectural team on developing various external wall insulation options to provide the most innovative solution. All the thermal elements were reviewed and where possible, increased to ensure a high thermal building envelope.
Heat pumps were used to deliver the heating and cooling throughout the building, utilising one of the highest efficiency systems on the market. Our team also paid close attention to incorporating renewable technologies and sustainable design principles to minimise the building’s environmental impact.
THE OUTCOME
The completed building was recognised for a Blackpool Civic Award for Best New Building, showcasing excellence in design. The new flagship office not only met Glasdon Group’s objectives, but also demonstrated PSA’s ability to deliver innovative, energy-efficient building solutions that positively impact both the client and the local community.
