GA Pet Food Ingredients Lab

About this project

PSA partnered with GA Pet Food Partners to create a specialised ingredients lab, vital for their extensive quality control process. Our team designed tailored mechanical systems to meet strict regulatory standards while considering budget and sustainability goals. The resulting facility, though scaled back from initial plans, effectively supports GA Pet Foods’ rigorous testing regime for over 800 ingredients, reinforcing their commitment to product safety and traceability.

CLIENT OBJECTIVES

GA Pet Foods required a high-spec scientific lab capable of performing varied tests on a wide range of ingredients. The client’s goal was for the lab to adhere to scientific regulations. The client also aimed to align the project with their Net Zero carbon targets, envisioning a self-sufficient site for energy generation.

OUR SOLUTION

Our team at PSA began by analysing the brief and collaborating with GA Pet Foods to balance their technical needs with budget constraints. We designed bespoke heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems to create an environment suitable for precise ingredient testing.
Working closely with Mercers, the project contractors, we ensured proper installation through regular on-site inspections. Our approach focused on delivering a functional space that would support GA Pet Foods’ comprehensive quality control process.

THE OUTCOME

The completed lab enables GA Pet Foods to conduct their essential ingredient testing effectively. While not incorporating all initially planned features, the facility meets the core requirements for their quality control procedures. The lab now plays a key role in maintaining GA Pet Foods’ commitment to ingredient traceability and product safety.
