About this project

Creating a beautiful restaurant and kitchen for a stately home extension. Our team delivered a comprehensive mechanical and electrical design for a new extension and kitchen, balancing modern functionality with the property’s rich heritage. We implemented efficient heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, designed ambient yet compliant lighting, and upgraded an existing biomass boiler. The project successfully created a beautiful, sustainable venue where visitors can enjoy local cuisine amidst historic surroundings.

CLIENT OBJECTIVES

The owners of Levens Hall sought to transform their existing visitor attraction into a place to enjoy local quality food. Their vision was to create an inviting space where visitors could relax and savour excellent local food while immersing themselves in the property’s rich heritage. The client placed a high premium on aesthetics, aiming to strike a delicate balance between modern functionality while adhering the parameters of the existing listed building.

 

OUR SOLUTION

Working alongside a local architect, PSA took charge of the full mechanical and electrical design for the new extension and kitchen at Levens Hall.

We designed:

  • Heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for the commercial kitchen, ensuring optimal functionality
  • Lighting, balanced ambience with safety, meeting compliance standards for staff and visitors, including fire escape routes
  • Biomass boiler, enhancing its efficiency

 

Throughout the project, we paid meticulous attention to preserving the integrity of the Listed portions of the building, seamlessly integrating modern systems with historic architecture.

 

THE OUTCOME

The completed project at Levens Hall met the client’s expectations. Today, the site continues to flourish as a popular public destination, offering visitors a chance to enjoy seasonal, locally-sourced cuisine in a stunningly beautiful, historic setting.
