The project focused on replacing ageing electrical infrastructure, lighting and associated building services. Meanwhile, firefighters needed continued access to the station and appliance bay whenever required. Therefore, we coordinated the works carefully to protect emergency response capability. This approach minimised disruption and maintained a safe environment throughout construction.

CLIENT OBJECTIVES
The client required a fire station electrical upgrade to improve reliability, compliance and energy efficiency. However, Maryport Fire Station needed to remain available for emergency call-outs throughout the project. Therefore, crews required uninterrupted access to appliance bays and other operational areas. The programme also needed to accommodate retained firefighters arriving at short notice. This requirement applied during evenings, weekends and overnight periods.
OUR SOLUTION
PSA assessed the existing services infrastructure and developed a phased fire station refurbishment strategy. We incorporated temporary arrangements where required to maintain essential electrical services during installation. Additionally, we worked closely with the contractor and station representatives throughout the project. This coordination aligned each phase with operational requirements and emergency response needs. Finally, testing and commissioning confirmed system performance before each completed area returned to full use.
