On 18 June, PSA’s Kate Clarke, Marketing Manager, and Oliver Jones, Electrical Engineer, joined colleagues from across the Rise Construction Framework supply chain at Boxpark Liverpool for a charity keep-fit session in aid of Bed Bank, the charity founded by fitness personality Mr Motivator.

Bed Bank works to raise awareness and funds for bed poverty, and supports organisations on the ground helping to tackle the issue directly. At the heart of it is a simple aim: making sure every child has a bed of their own to sleep in. Current estimates suggest that around one million children in the UK don’t have one, and it’s a statistic that’s hard to hear.
In support of that cause, the PSA team pulled on their sports kits for the session, joining others in bold colours, tutus and leg warmers. It might sound like a small thing, but the effort everyone put into dressing up said a lot about how everyone showed up to fully support this cause, nobody held back, and it made for a genuinely good atmosphere on the day.

The event was organised by Sara Lawton of Rise Construction Framework, who gives a huge amount of her own time to supporting community projects across the region. Alongside this, Sara founded Thrive CIC, a careers hub in Liverpool City Region that helps young people, particularly those who are care-experienced or socially excluded, into meaningful employment. Based out of a coffee shop that also employs people who’ve struggled to find work elsewhere, Thrive gives young people real insight into the world of work and connects them with local employers. Sara’s commitment to these causes is what makes this and every other event she puts on such a big success.
Between all of the Rise Construction Framework supply partners taking part, the session raised £25,000 for Bed Bank. A genuine collective effort, and one that will make a real difference to children who need it.
Taking part in this event, alongside colleagues who clearly care about the same things, was something the team felt privileged to be part of.
