CLIENT OBJECTIVES
Our client, a local vets in Carlisle, needed to expand its existing veterinary practice to accommodate the growing demand for its services in the local area. They also wanted to generate additional revenue by adding residential apartments to the site. The key requirements were to design a new two-storey building that could house the expanded veterinary facilities on the ground floor and four apartments on the first floor.
OUR SOLUTION
Working closely with the client and the architects, our team developed a comprehensive design that met all of the client’s needs. The ground floor was designed to include state-of-the-art consulting rooms, an operating theatre, and other clinical areas to support the veterinary practice. The first floor was configured to provide three two-bedroom apartments and one single-bedroom apartment, each with their own dedicated metering and utilities.
Our mechanical and electrical engineering solutions included:
- Heat recovery ventilation to improve energy efficiency
- Comfort cooling systems for the veterinary areas
- Dedicated metering and utility supplies for the residential units
THE OUTCOME
The new two-storey building was delivered on time and within budget, significantly enhancing the client’s veterinary services and providing a valuable additional revenue stream from the residential apartments. The project was a resounding success, demonstrating PSA’s ability to work collaboratively with clients and deliver innovative, high-quality building services solutions.
