Our team at PSA provided a full detailed mechanical and electrical design for it’s £20m refurbishment. Luxury and sustainability were top priorities for the client. The Spa now welcomes visitors from all over who enjoy the beautiful views of countryside in comfort.

CLIENT OBJECTIVES
The Woodland Spa aimed to create a world-class wellness facility that would stand out in the competitive spa industry. They envisioned a space where cutting-edge technology would enhance the guest experience without compromising the serene environment. A spa of this size and calibre takes a lot of services in the background to operate, so finding solutions that helped keep costs and carbon footprint down were important.
OUR SOLUTION
Having already had a long-standing relationship with the client, being involved in both the original spa and hotel build in the past, meant we were called upon to provide a full detailed design for the Mechanical and Electrical services.
Our designs included the provision of:
- Air source heat pumps to generate heating and hot water
- Solar photovoltaic panels
- Ventilation and comfort systems
- Swimming pool ventilation
- Fire safety systems
- CCTV and security
- Building Management System
- DALI lighting controls
- Specialist lighting design
- 3D Revit design
We worked around the operating spa while the refurbishment was taking place so it only had to close for a minimum amount of time. Our team worked closely with the design team and the contractor to ensure seamless delivery.
THE OUTCOME
The result is a stunning spa that seamlessly marries luxury with sustainability. Guests now enjoy a wellness experience enhanced by our carefully designed systems working quietly in the background. Our ongoing relationship with the client has led to further projects, including the consultation of solar PV panels, further cementing the spa’s commitment to green energy and reduced operating costs.
