CLIENT OBJECTIVES
The client required the development of a purpose-built wedding pavilion on the Kinmount Estate. The pavilion needed to include essential amenities such as underfloor heating, a bar, toilets, disabled facilities, a dance floor, and a catering kitchen.
Key priorities for the client encompassed aesthetics, sustainability, and ensuring the security of guests. Given its role as a wedding venue, having a visually appealing building set amidst picturesque surroundings was of utmost importance.
Additionally, the client aimed to minimize running costs by implementing a biomass boiler to harness energy from the main house. Furthermore, ensuring guest safety through the installation of CCTV was a crucial consideration.

Pettit Singleton Associates provided the full Mechanical and Electrical Design for the project.
The design encompassed a comprehensive range of services such as:
- Heating control systems
- Underfloor heating
- Mechanical ventilation
- LED and external lighting
- Self-testing emergency lighting
- Building addressable fire alarm system
- LV distribution
- Data and telephone systems
- Security and CCTV systems, along with cable containment systems.
Collaborating closely with the contractor, we devised effective routes for the provision of essential services, ensuring seamless integration between the two structures.
THE OUTCOME
Our efforts resulted in a stunning new pavilion, versatile for various events. The biomass boiler delivers cost savings and sustainability, while the kitchen’s efficient use of gas and electricity keeps running costs manageable. Overall, the project met the client’s goals, offering a bespoke venue that merges functionality with aesthetics, prioritizing sustainability and guest security.
